And with that, we're in business.
Hello, I'm Josh Dasal, owner and creative director of the new Kaboonki Creative, pursuing what I think is a refreshing, story-driven take on marketing, promotion and generally putting yourself out there in the modern world. Welcome. I'm happy to have you here.
Before we go any further, let me say that I get it. You don't know us; we don't know you. And there's lots of really talented competition out there asking for your business - quality people who can word a sentence, shoot a video or offer sage advice. Even a few who can do all three at a rock-bottom cost. I'm not here to discourage you from doing business with them. In fact, quite the opposite. If you find a company you trust, use them. What I hope to do is give you a reason to trust us too, and to show you how we offer something different, something relatively unique.
What's that something different? Truly, it's all in the approach. I think our tagline says it best: "Do Good Business. Tell Great Stories." We think it's in telling those stories that you can continue to do good business.
To be fair, not everybody sees it that way. For some, it really is enough just to talk about their product or service, its pertinent details, mention the company name and then watch the calls, or the website traffic, or the social media hits add up. God bless them if they can. But for many more of us, the "what" has proven itself to be not enough. Our audiences also demand to know why.
From the Kaboonki Creative perspective, the "what" and the "why" are both essential elements not only to thriving, but quite frankly to surviving, as a business or a non-profit, an artist or an entrepreneur, or anywhere in-between. You strive to do the best you can for your customers or supporters, your employees and even your family. But all of the best business practices in the world may not be enough if the people who need to hear about them don't, or can't.
So I started Kaboonki Creative on the crazy (read: not crazy) premise that stories sell ideas. Tell someone an engaging tale, and you stand a much greater chance of capturing not only their mind, but their heart as well. It has been my professional experience that when people fall in love with a brand, or a cause or an idea, action follows - be that buying what you're selling, becoming an evangelist for your cause or simply coming back for more, time and again.
In blog posts to follow, we hope not only to share some cogent thoughts on the "what" and "why" of story-driven messaging, but also the "how". As we discover examples of those people we feel do it really well, we'll share those too.
I truly appreciate you checking us out. I hope we can work with together. And when we do, I know you will discover that we stay true to delivering you and your audience both the "what" and the "why", and we do it in a way where we can all be proud at the end of the day.
I'm so excited to see where this goes. And I'm ready to tell your story.
